Speaking Engagements

Rippling ImpactsSometimes you don’t have time for a multi-day, single day or even half-day workshop.  You do however want to create deep impact on your team or group of participants in a single hour.

So, how do you create meaningful impact in one hour?  (While impactful, pulling the fire alarm is not an acceptable answer).  I have found that the goal must be just that: meaningful impact.  It tempting for a speaker to become distracted with the brilliance of their ideas :-)  My aim is work and build from each audience and their needs.  I recognize that there are a variety of ways people learn, so I include visuals, mini-activities, videos, stories and metaphors.  Where possible, and however badly, I use humour to shed insight and keep the mood light.

I have spoken on topics including: “Diagnosing and Changing Culture”, “Building Buy-in”, “Building Communications Strategies”, and “The Fundamentals of Extraordinary Change”, to name a few.

I have spoken to some great groups, from the Conference Board of Canada, GTEC (Government Technology Exhibition and Conference), the Financial Management Institute’s (FMI), and CIPS/DPI, to guest-lecturing at the University of Ottawa’s Executive MBA, to employee town halls at compelling organizations such as the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), to breakfast and evening events for groups such as Agile Ottawa, itSMF and the Help Desk Institute, to name a few.
